Trapiche is a structure used as a warehouse and as boat mooring. The trapiches in Salvador were used for supporting the city’s maritime activities. Once its port was modernized the trapiches gradually lost their function.

The picture’s light shows that it was painted in the morning, before 9:00 AM, when the population was going to work and seamen were raising their sails.
